Because I'm bored and nothing seems eventful, here comes a survey.This is the driving survey! Full of fun and interesting driving related questions to help pass this boring moment! Have fun!
1) Do you drive the speed limit?
On my way to school, I usually set the cruise at 75 mph. Since I live in a small town and there is a good chance of a child darting out into the middle of the street, I usually just leisurely cruise around.
2) Have you ever gotten a speeding ticket?
No, the only tickets I've ever received were for good driving. We went to the KU-Colorado basketball game.
3) What's the fastest you've ever driven?
Fastest I've driven was 110. Fastest I've ever been was 155. That's fast.
4) Do you listen to music in your car?
There are people who don't? What kind of heretics are these people.
5) Would you rather be the driver or the passenger?
Most of the time I want to be the driver.
6) Do your passengers like to be backseat drivers?
No. The only help I need is if I'm lost. And yes, I will stop and ask for directions if I'm lost. I know that breaks the male creed, but deal with it.
7) What’s the longest distance you've ever driven in one day?
From my grandparents' place in Texas to home and then back to Wichita. Only a meager 900 miles or so.
8) Where was the first place you drove when you got your license?
I just cruised around town. I thought I was the proverbial shit.
9) Did you have restrictions on where you could drive when you first got your license?
School and Work until I was 16. Then it was all good.
10) What kind of car do you drive?
A 1994 Ford Explorer 4x4.
9) What was your first car?
A 1988 Olds 98 that we put through hell and back. Jar and I actually cracked the windshield like any good teenagers would.
10) How many cars have you owned?
Two.
11) Did you pass your learner's permit test the first time?
HA! No learner's permit back in those days for KS kids.
12) Are you nervous about driving over bridges/tunnels?
Nope.
13) Do you have a lot of junk in your car?
Depends on the season. Usually during the spring and summer a combination of either softball stuff or golf clubs take up the back of my vehicle. Right now, it's softball stuff and my backpack for skool.
14) Is your car clean?
Right now no. I promised myself I wouldn't wash it until after pheasant season. I just haven't gotten around to it yet.
15) Do you sing while driving?
Not very well, but I do sing.
16) Ever driven around without going anywhere?
Yup. Been there done that.
17) Ever followed someone while driving just to see where they were going?
Yes, but it was only because we were messing with Driver's Ed kids. We kept passing them in town and the like causing them to have the deer in the head light look
18) Do you use cruise control?
Everyday on my way to skool.
19) Do you blast your music?
Sometimes. Especially if it's on the way to a softball game. Then I've got my "Softball Pregame" cd that I blare pretty loudly to get me fired up.
20) Ever run red lights?
Yes. Twice. The first time there was a storm rolling in and I wasn't paying attention. I saw the lights turn yellow on the other stoplight and I went ahead and pulled through the intersection. The second one, well I'm not allowed to talk about that as I will get yelled at from a variety of people.
21) Ever been chased by the cops?
While driving? No. While riding? Yes. Our little town set one of those speed things that tells you how fast you were going. The set it up right in front of City Hall, so in the middle of a July day, we saw how fast we could go. We hit 50 just as the cop was coming out of the building. Fortunately he was a tub of lard and couldn't get in his car fast enough to catch us as we went 55 down main street and hid the car in my grandparents garage.
22) Ever been in an accident?
Yes, but not with my own vehicle.
23) Ever had a flat tire?
Yes, at 70 mph in Texas I had a blowout. I promptly put the spare on after the little mexican man had loaned us a good jack. Dad walked the jack back to his house so I pulled in the driveway and promptly blew the other good tire on the back.
24) Ever had something else happen to your car?
I blew my radiator in an amazing show of skill.
26) Is your transmission automatic or stick shift?
Automatic. It's been a while since i've driven a stick shift, but i can do it fairly smoothly.
27) Does your car get good gas mileage?
Not that good.
28) Ever run out of gas?
No. I got lucky a couple of times.
29) Ever run over an animal with your car?
Yes. Several and nearly ran over one person too. But he moved and I missed.
30) What year is your car?
I believe we've covered this already.
31) Most passengers you've ever had in your car?
I had 7 in the Olds once upon a time. The four in the back were macking.
32) Places you usually drive your car?
School, work, hunting and wherever the next ball game is.
33) Ever get your car stuck somewhere?
Heck yeah. I was playing. After I realized I wasn't going places, I slapped it into 4x and away we went.
34) Ever back your car into something/someone back theirs into?
Nope. If you ask if I've ever done that with a mower, a turf truckster, a tractor and a golf cart, I would have to respond with a yes.
35) Ever get a parking ticket?
Nope.
36) Ever driven without a license?
No I have not.
37) Ever race your car?
Not my exploder, but I did the olds. We were racing from House A to House B through town and I was going to prove that I could get there faster than the van load of people. They got pulled over and I didn't.
38) Have a good driver's ed teacher?
I suppose so. It was during the summer.
39) Ever had your windshield wipers stop working?
Yes. That sucked. That Olds was a piece.
40) Ever lock your keys in your car?
No I have not. However my mother managed to.
41) Ever had anyone throw up in your car?
Yes, my drunk sister had WAY too much wine one time at party. Thankfully I had forgotten to remove a WalMart sack from the backseat so she puked in that on the way home. It was a brutal night because this was after she had passed out in the yard.
42) Ever lose your keys?
No, I always know where my keys are. Most of the time, they're in my vehicle as I live in a small town so I rarely lock my truck at night.
43) Ever had a dead battery?
Yes. I went to school in a rainstorm, but it wasn't dark enough to kick on my automatic lights. I turned them on manually and forgot to turn them off. I parked and never looked back as I walked to class.
43) Ever hit a pepperbox or run in a ditch?
Not with my vehicle. Warren's on the other hand...
44) Ever leave your lights on?
See number 43.
45) Do you have a car payment?
No. The explorer is bought and paid for baby.
46) Ever drive drunk?
I'm not allowed to talk about these two incidinces as once again, I will be yelled at for crimes I committed in the past. And I mean the past. Granted one was not quite a year ago, but then the other was when I was 25.
47) Drive drunk people?
Yes, several times. See the part above about being 25 and sad to say, I was the soberest one in the vehicle. I also ran a red light that time. But I'm not allowed to talk about it.
48) Ever come close to getting in an accident but didn’t?
Yes. Just a couple of weeks ago. Stupid Sedgwick County Drivers..
49) Do you like driving?
Oh yeah.
50) Do you like your car?
I love my exploder. It's getting up there in the years, so eventually, it will have to be replaced with a newer model in the future.
