One of my favorite times of year

'Tis the season of the roundball.
What a great time of year if you're like me, me being a complete and total basketball junkie. High school state tourneys start today across the state of Kansas. Across the state you say? Yes, Kansas is pretty backwards as it sends each class to their own tourney site. I really think that the state would be ahead to play the first two rounds at each site, then play all the finals at one central locale, whether you play all six classes of girls on a Friday and then start the boys on Saturday.
That being said, it's still a fun time of year for high school basketball.
In addition to the high school tourneys, throw in national college hoops conference tourneys that have been going on. A lot of these tourney winners have their ticket punched to the Big Dance. So on ESPN, there have been these little school teams playing because they have something to play for. Throw in the power conference tourneys that start today and especially the Big XII tourney that starts tomorrow and I've got basketball coming out of my ears.
Plus the NCAA selection show is on Sunday and that sets the field for the Big Dance that starts a week from tomorrow. That's major for my father and I because then the brackets go out for our pool. Of course we don't charge any money for this pool as it's all done for pride. *cough*
