Thank you
Seriously.Back in the day, when I first started playing softball down in Haysville, we played with these twins. Yes, the twins were awful. Normally, time will help you improve, however it’s not so with these guys. Twin 2 was picked up by one of the teams in our league for fall ball because his team disbanded.
So tonight, we faced off against Twin 2 and his team. Of course, he was worthless at first base as in he made one scoop of one ball. All the rest went off of his glove and we took extra bases.
We’re in the second or third inning and we’re trouncing them. Twin 2 is having a horrible game, enough that one outfielder yelled “JESUS BRON” at him, causing Timmy and I to have to conceal our laughter.
Our situation was that we had the bases loaded, with one out. One of our guys grounds to third base. Third makes the play by stepping on third for the force and trying to throw to first to make the double play. Like most of the game, the ball bounces off of Twin 2’s glove. Now, I’m coaching third base or telling our guys to run or stay. The guy who got forced out (Danny) is trotting off to our dugout as the guy who was on second (Donkey) makes a break for third on the error. I turn my head and tell Danny to move because there is a play coming. When I turn back, I see the ball and it’s too late to react.
Ball smacks into Rusty with a resounding THWACK that echoes around the ballfield. Where did it hit Rusty? Oh yes, upper thigh, towards the inner part. As in three more inches up to the right and Rusty probably wouldn’t be having kids.
Now I’ve been hit harder than that. A lot harder than that. I knew that it would probably stiffen up on the drive home which it did, but after moving some and having to run up and down stairs several times, it’s pretty loose. There is a nice bruise trying to form.
Thanks you sucky Twin 2.
