I was
15 when my sister was born today.I remember the day because I didn't have school during the day. If memory serves me correctly, my dad and I had been hunting during the day. I remember that it was coldish, but I can't remember if we actually got anything.
We got home and there was a bag packed by the door. Mom said the doctor said it would be anytime in the next 24-48 hours. I was excited because I would be having a sibling in the future.
That evening, Dad and I went to Yost Center to watch Wichita's attempt at a pro basketball team scrimmage. Mom told Dad to check in at halftime, just in case. Dad told me, if I didn't see him after the game, to call my grandmother to be picked up.
During the halftime, Dad called Mom and she told him that it was time.
"Can I stay and watch the slam dunk competition?" he asked her.
She said yes, and then he left. At 12:04 a.m. Wendy was born and I had a sister.
Happy Birthday Fish!
