My craving

I had a craving for my jambalaya from scratch. I finally talked myself into making it and so I set upon my task of cutting ham, sausage and chicken and browning those while chopping and dicing veggies.
I was cruising along enjoying the smells emanating from my pot, and had reached the stage of bringing it to a boil. That's when I stepped away for a second.
And I learned something valuable.
When I watch and hover around my cooking stuffs, it always takes way too long for the appropriate action to take place. The moment I step away, the action springs to life. This time, my boil became a rolling, thundering boil which promptly burned the bottom of my concoction, contaminating my wonderful food.
I was pissed.

Oh well, I'll get it next time.
