Tired
Let me just say this, five games of softball in less than 24 hours will wear you down.
I had to play our normal league game with a makeshift team on Friday night at 6:30. Most of Friday afternoon had been spent trying to fill in major gaps within our team because of various assorted events that caused people to miss. I ended up having enough to field a team and we managed a 14-8 victory, even after one kid popped his kneecap out of place.
I then played the 7:30 game right after that because one team was short. Come the 8:30 game and they were an inning into it before one guy got hurt, so one team asked me to fill in. I did and tied a record by playing 3 games in one night.
This morning, I woke up and promptly played two games in a tourney. Unfortunately, it should have been more but that's how it goes sometimes.
Holy
Holy Schnikes, I'm sore.
The wiffleball tourney was a smashing success as we had a ball. We only won one game however as we finished 1-2. But we didn't finish last so that's all that matters.
I learned you use different muscles to play wiffleball than you do to play softball. I wasn't the only one looking like I was 85 and getting out of bed for the first time on Sunday morning before our game.
We lost our first, won our second, then lost to some high school pricks who were taking it too seriously. My sister was almost mad enough to take one out with a forearm shiver. The one kid said "I'm just playin' ball," kind of like he was thinking this was baseball. Next year, we're going to practice!
I am here
I'm really here.
Things have been hectic and busy. Umpiring has started, softball is in full swing and my computer blew up.
Not literally blew up. But went back in time two years. The motherboard crapped out and therefore my machine was rebuilt. Which is good because I needed some upgrades.
The wiffleball tournament is next weekend and I'm pumped about that. At last count, there were 22 teams playing. Hopefully, we win a couple of games.
